Sports . . . . again
I have said it before and I am saying it again. I don't like sports. I blame my sports-crazed father. No matter the season there was always a game, match or tournament on the television; golf, baseball, basketball, hockey, football and tennis. He would read the sports section and give me the back story of how the player has overcome adversity to became a world-champion *insert sport* player.
Fast-forward 20 years and now I have sons, three of them to be exact. I'm still not a fan of watching sports or following it. But I am a fan of the kids exercising and learning to be team players. Which is how I found myself buying a cup and t-ball bat and glove last week. First I was a soccer mom and now I am a t-ball mom. *sigh*
And little Alexander . . . . he is going to have a long two years of waiting until he gets to play sports. Each time we get gear for his older brother's he insists on his own gear. Then when the boys head out to the front yard to dribble the soccer ball or catch grounders with the alligator technique Alexander is right behind them with his own ball. I have to say, not only does he have the enthusiasm, but he seems to be fairly coordinated for a 2 year old. I see long years of sitting in stands for practices and games. I better invest in a high quality camp chair.
