I learned early on in my relationship with Caskey that we would not be celebrating Valentine's Day. In his opinion it is nothing more than a Hallmark holiday and he doesn't need someone else to tell him when to love me more or buy me flowers and candy. Over the years I have taught myself to expect less just so I am not disappointed. This year I had almost completely forgotten about it, once the kids treats were prepared for school.
Imagine my surprise when Connor asked to call daddy at work. Connor told daddy that he needed to go and buy mommy flowers for Valentine's Day. Sure enough Saturday morning my husband and eldest son went out to buy me candy. They went to the grocery store and picked up fun size bars of all my favorites. I was so surprised on Valentine's Day that he really did pick my favorites. I feel so blessed and taken care of. I hope this is a sign of things to come when I have 3 little men taking care of me on Valentine's Day.
